The Single Minded People Rant...

Well actually it's one person, but I shan't metion his name here, but people who know me well will know who I mean. Let's just say I spent a large majority of time spent with him wanting to punch him. And here's why...
Well, we all know what type of music I like from looking at this sitye don't we? Well when I met up whith, let' call him Ted, his first question was "What's your favourite band at the moment?"
Naturally the answer was Terrorvision, and blank faces ensued. Never mind say's I, you wouldn't like them anyway.
I am then told, on the basis of my clothes that i'm a grunge kid. Fair enough, but I don't like being labelled, especially since the only basis for this was baggy trousers and a denim jacket.
Ted is a big fan of Robbie Williams and The Corrs, has his own band and wouldn't mind being in a boy band. Well fair enough to the first one, I don't have to listen to it just the same as you don't have to listen to my favourite music. And the second i'm very impressed by, anyone who has a band goes up in my expectation (as long as it's a proper band like) becaue of my limited musical talent. Thye third is inforgivable though, so I just laughed at him, and told him the reasons why it wouldn't be a good idea if he wanted to pursue a sensibal music career.
Oh I forgot, he also likes S Club7. WHY? This is unforgivable, but apparently I'm in the wrong throughout....
He first of said I should like the Corrs becasue they are fantastic musicians and can play about 5 instruments each. So what? As much as I respect their talent, this will not make me like them. I mean Prince can play 50 instruments, but I'm not a fan of his songs am I?
Ted was completely convinced I was a metalhead because I liked Terrorvision so much. It's not even as if Terrorvision are VERY metal is it?
I mean I like metal, admitadly more so know then I did then, but that doesn't mean it's my favourite kind of music. That place will always be held by indie and general wierd shit. So there.

He said that the music he liked apealed to people of all ages while the music I liked only apealed to people who reach 15, want to rebel and die thier hair green. Which is a big pile of bollocks! Because I think you'll find more people in thier 30's liking blur than sclub7 or thankyou very much.
Also green hair looks shit, we all knbow that blue is a much better colour.

Also he said to me, "If you were at a party, would you dance to pop music?>"
Well of course, your not gonna spend the whole party sitting out because you don't like the music are you? That doesn't mean I wanna listen to it at home.
After all, everybody dances to the timewarp, but does anybody actually like it? hmmm?
Now, I wished I'd asked him if he'd dance to Smells Like Teen Spirit if they played it at a party. Damn, you always think of these things to late don't you?

Another thing that get's me is that he met two guys you played guitar who were big Korn fans. Did he argue with them? No! He pretended he'd never heard of Robbie Williams! Why? Because they played an instrument so he respected them more than me, even though he's known me longer.
This leads me to believe he didn't think my opinion was good enough because I don't ACTUALLY play anything to a good standard. Bastard.

The thing that get's me, is that he still though I was a Korn fan even though I spent a large amount of time talking about that Travis song and The Beatles.... hmmm. He just wanted me to be wrong really, which pisses me off.
Nevermind, this time i've got my arguement sorted, so he betteer watch out.
He'll probably be into Garage this time. Aaargh!
He might surprise us all though and come back a Slipknot fan, or maybe not.
